The Passaic County LEAD Program is a transformative initiative dedicated to ensuring safe and healthy homes for families by addressing the dangers of lead exposure. This strategy, supported by a $2 million grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA), focuses on eliminating hazards in residential properties and protecting the well-being of vulnerable populations, especially children.
What does the LEAD Program do?

LEAD REMEDIATION AND REDUCTION PROGRAM
Passaic County Lead Assistance Programs
The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) offers a variety of assistance programs to reduce lead-based paint hazards and help eligible occupants remediate them in one- to four-family residential units built before 1978.
Available Programs:

Federal Lead Remediation and Abatement Program (LRAP).

State Lead-Safe Housing Remediation Program.

State Single-Family Housing Remediation Program.
For Applicants
Eligibility Requirements:

The property has lead-based paint hazards.
-
Household income falls within low- to moderate-income limits.
-
The home is a one- to four-unit residential property built before 1978.

The property is structurally sound.
