OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Announcement from the U.S. Latino Affairs Initiatives The Board of Directors of the U.S. Latino Affairs Initiatives (USLAI) recently convened to address one of the most important goals shaping our mission — helping more eligible residents in the United States complete the journey to citizenship. During this meeting, the Board focused on identifying practical, community-based strategies to assist lawful residents who often face barriers such as lack of time, resources, or access to guidance in navigating the naturalization process. Their collective vision centers on providing structured support that empowers individuals to achieve their dream of becoming U.S. citizens. A major point of discussion centered on New Jersey’s Spanish-speaking communities, where Hispanic residents have long established strong roots and continue to play an essential role in the state’s social and economic growth. Recognizing this, the U.S. Latino Affairs Initiatives reaffirmed its commitment to expanding programs that deliver efficient, professional, and culturally responsive assistance to eligible residents seeking citizenship. Aligned with this mission, USLAI is pursuing a strategic opportunity through the Center for Hispanic Policy, Research, and Development, which has opened a grant to strengthen nonprofit organizations equipped to support naturalization efforts. This initiative represents a key step forward in providing Hispanic communities with the tools and support they need to successfully complete the citizenship process.

Looking Ahead The organization expresses its deep appreciation for the dedication of its leadership team and community partners who continue to guide and advance this mission. The new Board of Directors of the U.S. Latino Affairs Initiatives will be formally announced on December 18, 2025, during the Top Latinos of New Jersey Gala at Rider University. This announcement will mark an important milestone as USLAI continues expanding its work to promote civic participation, education, and opportunity for all.
